Cellular phone ringtones are a big business nowadays. Bet you never thought you would see the day when the sound your cellular phone is making when it rang would be such a hot item. Well, welcome to the 21st century.

Cellular phone ringtones are hotter than any Hollywood star on a summer day. There are a zillion places on the Internet to download the different sounds that can suit just about everyone. It is apparent that the income generated by this business is staggering.

Just what are cellular phone ringtones and how do you get them?
Ring tones are recorded waves in digital format that play whenever your cell phone rings. You can assign these tones individually to each number in your phone book.

So that depending on who is calling, you would know the caller before you even look at your phone just by the sound it makes. More like voice ID.

As to where you get them, obviously, you do not have to look very far.

For starters, a number of ring tones are already pre loaded into your cellular phones. Usually they are classified into categories.

First you have your standard ring tones like beeps and buzzes. Then you have your musical ring tones. These can be anything from Christmas songs to jazz classics. Most phones today come with a pretty good and unique selection too.

The best stuff comes from the Internet. There are companies that deal primarily with supplying ring tones for cellular phones. Just by browsing, you can see the great number of sites catering to this purpose. The pages seem endless.

How exactly do you get these custom ring tones? It is actually pretty simple. Go to any site after doing your search and you will find a page that most likely has a list of ring tones.

Click on the one you want. That will bring you to a screen where you enter your phone information country, handset, phone number, and carrier company.

After you filled out all that is needed, there is a button you click to actually download the ring tones. After that you connect your phone to the computer and transfer the ring tones from the computer to the phone.

If you are not sure if your phone supports downloading ring tones, most sites have a checklist where you can find out.

So what are the most popular ring tones? You can never tell actually. That changes from day to day. Billboard magazine actually has a section with the top 10 ring tones for the week.
Besides, whatever the season may be, for sure, the cellular ring tones would be the first to play its melody and be popular by doing so.

"The Super Mario Brothers Theme." It seems that this particular cellular phones ring tone is the most popular all year round. It has been on Billboards top 10 list for 53 weeks. That is the longest of all the ring tones tied with.

The cost of all this? Astronomical. One cellular phone ring tone can cost you as much as $2. Imagine wanting to download a dozen of those. The cost can add up quickly.

Knowing this fact, companies are always coming out with ring tones that they know people will want. Indeed, cellular phone ring tones have become a big business already.

In modern technology today cellular phone is one of the most developing gadgets that everyone considers it as a basic need. Millions of people around the world use cell phones having different models and features.

These days cellular phones provide an implausible array of functions, and new one are being added depending on models. Almost all are capable of sending or receiving e-mails GPS and Internet Browsing.

Cellular phones and Internet are now the very powerful and the number one information sources. If you are researching very important information and looking for something internet can provide you almost all that you need.

There are many cellular phone numbers where every time a user changes its service provider. So the telecommunication has established local number portability. This requires the users or customers to keep their numbers even when changing service providers.

A recent survey was conducted by the Yankee Group found out that 49.8% of residential users who initially expressed interest in changing carriers were not willing to do if they were unable to keep their phone number.

According to Boyd Peterson, among business customers for whom changing cellular phone numbers would entail the expense of reprinting stationary and materials and who often have a kind of brand equity in catchy or easy-to-remember numbers--that percentage is undoubtedly higher.

Aimed at increasing competition, the concept first appeared in the long-distance market in the early 1990s, when toll-free numbers became portable between carriers.

Local number portability is a huge responsibility, requiring significant infrastructure upgrades and a high level of cooperation between local carriers and new competitors.

Most of the work required to get local number portability underway is occurring at the regional level, where LECs and CLECs have formed limited liability corporations to establish number portability administration centers.

Presently, calls are routed to a specific service provider central office based on a local exchange. In order for a number to be portable, a new routing method had to be devised.

With location routing number technology, all carriers' switches are assigned unique 10-digit numbers conforming to the North American Numbering Plan format. Any calls to an NPA-NXX in which number portability is available require a database check.

If a dialed number has been ported, or moved to a different carrier, it is temporarily replaced with the location routing number of the new carrier's switch so that it can be routed there.

At the new switch, the dialed number replaces the location routing number so that the call can be routed to the ported customer. If the number has not been ported, the call is routed to the original switch.

For local calls between two carriers, the originating carrier would be responsible for checking the database. For local calls to and from customers served by the same carrier, that carrier would do the check. For long-distance calls, it would be the inter exchange carrier's responsibility.

Over time, however, the amount of traffic that must be rerouted by the incumbent LEC should decrease.

According to the FCC implementation schedule, cellular carriers, personal communication services providers and specialized mobile radio service operators in the top 100 metro areas will be required to support local number queries for calls originating on their networks by the end of 1998.

By June 30, 1999, wireless carriers must give customers the ability to keep their number when they move to another wireless or wireline carrier. Cellular phones will still improve and new development will boost up.

They’re almost everywhere. Today, you can't go too far without seeing someone talking, laughing, even screaming into a cellular phone. You've been thinking of getting one, but with all the new cell phone plans, and minute packages, you wonder: How can I get the best cellular phone deal?

According to the Federal Communications Commission there are two important things to consider in getting the best cellular phone deal.

1.Figure out what your calling pattern is.
2.Determine destination and time where you usually make calls.

In getting the best cellular phone deal, it is important that you support yourself with the information you need before you start shopping

Here are some tips in that would help you in dealing for the best cellular phone.

Determine Your Needs. In getting the best cellular phone deal, the first step is to ask yourself how much you'll use your phone. It depends on your purpose of using the phone. If you only use the phone for emergencies, a smaller, lower monthly plan may be the most feasible. If you plan to use your cellular phone every day, a higher-minute plan may be the best choice. Both higher- and lower-minute packages allow a set number of minutes and a cost per minute of going over those minutes, which is generally higher than the "in plan" rate. The most expensive mistake you can make is signing up for a calling plan with a rock-bottom rate and exceeding your allotted airtime each month.

Choose a Phone You Will Use. Not everyone needs the Internet, multimedia features and a radio on their cell phone, but all those features, and more, are available on the newest models.

The key is to choose the best cellular phone that allows you to meet your calling needs, rather than additional features that you won't use.

Compare Plans. Do a canvass before walking into the store and know the competitors rates as well. The best way in dealing the best cellular phone is not to demand a cheaper plan but to go in with information. Most cell phone companies have all kinds of various promotional plans that they never tell people about.

Consider Pay-As-You-Go Plans. For ease and convenience, most providers offer "hassle-free" pay-as-you-go plans that allow you to pay only for what you use. For instance, you can buy the minutes that you need for one month, or for one week and you only purchase more when you run out. That is one way that might work for all.

Get References From Family and Friends. The best referrals come from satisfied customers. Ask your friends and family members about their experiences with their current or past service providers. Ask them about sound quality, coverage areas, billing problems, the ease of returning phones and cancellation fees for terminating your contract. In that way, you will have the idea where to deal with the best cellular phone.

Ask About Rebates. With so much competition between cell phone providers, more companies are giving lower prices and offering rebates.

Ask About a Test-Run. Those who know how to deal with cellular phones always ask how many days you have to try the phone. This way, you have the opportunity to sample the phone and its quality without being tied down. Many providers allow a certain number of days following purchase in which you can return the phone for a full refund, without penalty.

Having the knowledge about cellular phones before walking into a store levels the playing field and allows you to negotiate the best deal. So, keep in mind those tips and for sure you will always get the best cellular phone deal!

Millions of people around the world own a cellular phone. They are united under the brand "Cellular One", and had established certain standards adhered to by all participants.

The customer will, however, not notice any difference. They will receive their coverage regardless of which entity that provides it. This company has as many as 32 million customers that make it as one of the largest service provider in the US.

Cellular One provides coverage in 42 different states plus Puerto Rico, Bermuda and in the Caribbean. Since this service provider uses antennas with a limited reach, they usually focus on cities or densely populated areas.

It means that even though Cellular One provides service to 42 states, it doesn't mean that the entire state is covered. This carrier offers a wide range of different plans, and to find the best one you have to assess your needs.

You can choose local plan if you’re just using your cellular phone at home or your just around in your local area. However, if you are traveling the cost is quite expensive because of roaming. In such case a plan with for example a national rate might be to prefer.

In many instances a local plan can cover areas in multiple states though, so you should check this before making your decision.

You can also sign up with Cellular One on the internet, you can do it through their website or one of their numerous resellers. There are many websites out there where you can get a free cellular phone with different plans. Things to look for are free shipping, money back guarantees and free accessories.

In fact Cellular One introduces today, Quicklink Mobile Wireless Internet Services. The innovative new technology allows wireless telephone users to link a laptop computer to Cellular One's wireless network via a special wireless PC card and access e-mails, upload and download files, and surf the web without being plugged into a network or modem line connection.

The new technology, that gives Cellular One customers the freedom to access the Internet at high speeds, is made possible thanks to a multi-million dollar overlay of EDGE technology that provides faster data transfer over a wireless network. An EDGE-equipped handset makes surfing the web, buying ring tones or checking the latest stock quotes faster. A variety of EDGE-equipped phones are available from Cellular One, including the Nokia 6200 and 68.

Having a cell phone nowadays is not anymore a luxury, it is a need.

Cell phones are mainly used for business transactions because it’s mobile and handy.
But because of several needs by people, it is not anymore used for business.

Almost everyone has a cell phone now. According to the Cellular Industry Association (CTIA), the number of people with cell phone rose to 13.7% in 2004 in the United States, That is about 180 million, which is 60% of the country’s population.

Also, according to CTIA, the time spent on cell phones in 2004 exceeded one trillion minute! And still, it increases by 33% each year.

With these facts, there is also an increase in cellular plan options. If you’re a first time cell phone buyer, it’s now easy to find the right cell phone for you.

In buying your new cell phone, don’t be attracted by its looks or by the TV commercials. A good cell phone is the one with the good services that the cell phone providers can offer.

The first thing to do in choosing the right cell phone is do your research. Find out which cell phone providers offer service and then research which ones are known for the best reception in your area. Don't be deceived by the comments of your friends.

The difference between cellular service providers isn't as great as it used to be. Check out the cell phone providers' coverage maps, and focus only on locations where you'll need to make and receive a lot of cell phone calls.

If you get your new cell phone and realize that the cellular service you chose has a dead spot right in your driveway, you can cancel the contract and return the cell phone without penalty within 30 days, whether you got it from the carrier directly or from an authorized cell phone retailer.

Cell phone providers usually subsidize the cost of the cell phone when you commit to a one- or two-year contract. Even if they didn't, the cost of the cellular plan over time would probably still be higher than the up-front cost of the cell phone itself. That's why it's important to the right cellular plan that best fits how you will be using your phone.

Don't worry, the plan you choose generally does not substantially limit your options of cell phone models, but you do want to keep in mind the total cost of the cell phone plus the cost of the cellular plan over the life of the contract when evaluating a deal.

Are you ready to pick a cell phone? With literally hundreds of features to choose from, finding the perfect cell phone can seem like a difficult task. But chances are you already know what two or three features you're looking for.

Camera phones are one of the most popular types of cell phones on the market.

Smartphones are a great choice for people who frequently access email, calendar, and other mobile applications when they are on the road.

For some, a traditional bar-style phone is preferred, while others swear by the flip phone design.

Travelers might look for multiband GSM-technology or just a very light and compact cell phone.

Providers and their authorized agents offer a selection of cell phones that meet almost any combination of criteria you could come up with.
